Richmond offers a variety of family-friendly Halloween activities, culminating in the Halloween Fireworks Festival.
This October, Richmond invites residents and visitors to partake in over 20 Halloween-themed events and activities, running through October 31. The highlight is the Halloween Fireworks Festival at Minoru Park on Halloween night. Full details are available on richmond.ca/halloween. Activities range from themed skates at Minoru Arenas, a Monster Mash Dance Party at Cambie and South Arm Community Centres, pumpkin carving at Steveston Community Centre, potion making at various community centres, to the Halloween Hoot at the Richmond Nature Park from October 19 to 27. On Halloween night, join the community at Minoru Park for performances by magicians and jugglers, a live pumpkin carving demonstration, carnival games, and an array of food trucks, concluding with a fireworks display at 8:30 p.m. Fireworks and firecrackers remain illegal in Richmond, with enforcement by City Bylaws staff and RCMP. Sports field lights will be extended from sunset until 1:00 a.m. on select days at fields including Hugh Boyd Park, King George Park, Minoru Park, and Richmond High.
