Seasonal event features tree displays and musical concerts, supporting local food bank

RICHMOND, British Columbia — The 23rd annual Winter Wonderland, organized by the Rotary Club of Richmond Sunset, is set to kick off at Richmond City Hall on Saturday, November 30, offering an array of Christmas tree displays and musical performances. Attendees can enjoy two unique tree displays sponsored by local businesses and organizations, with decorations by Rotary Interactors from Hugh Boyd and Steveston-London Secondary Schools, alongside community volunteers. Inside Richmond City Hall, the indoor Galleria will feature a collection of creatively adorned trees available for viewing from 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, December 1-24. Outside, the North Plaza will sparkle with live trees, lit up from November 30 to December 31. These trees will be replanted after the event, enhancing Richmond’s parks. Visitors are invited to bring a non-perishable food item to support Richmond’s local food bank. The event also hosts a series of musical matinees amid the festive atmosphere: On November 30, performances by Dr. Libby Yu Piano Studio at noon, BC Registered Music Teachers’ Association at 2:00 p.m., and Interact Clubs – Shaung Music School at 3:30 p.m.; on December 7, Pacific Chamber Music Academy at 2:00 p.m. and Richmond Music School at 3:30 p.m.; and on December 14, Richmond Emmanuel Music School at 2:00 p.m. and Sound Direction School of Music at 3:30 p.m. Winter Wonderland is supported by Aspac Developments and Concord Pacific, along with additional support from 24 companies and individuals.
