City services to remain accessible online; emergency line available for urgent issues.

Richmond Civic Services will not be available from Dec. 25, 2024, to Jan. 1, 2025, resuming operations on Jan. 2 at 8:15 a.m. Despite City Hall’s closure, various services can still be accessed 24/7 through Richmond’s official website at richmond.ca or via the MyRichmond app. These platforms offer access to transactions, tools, and data searches, along with most information, forms, and bulletins. City parks, recreation, and cultural centers will operate throughout most of the holidays. During the winter break, residents are encouraged to enjoy Richmond’s festive light displays in locations such as Steveston Village and City Hall Plaza. Emergencies involving infrastructure issues can be reported via the City’s 24-hour Emergency Line at 604-270-8721. The Recycling Depot will observe closures on Dec. 25, Dec. 26 and Jan. 1. Garbage and recycling pickups scheduled for Dec. 25 and Dec. 26 will occur two days later than usual, and collections set for Jan. 1 and Jan. 2 will be a day late. Check collection days on the Richmond Recycling app or at richmond.ca/recycle. Christmas trees can be recycled by dropping them off at the Richmond Recycling Depot or Ecowaste Industries; alternatively, curbside collection is available following preparation guidelines. Richmond Firefighters Association will host their annual tree chipping event on Jan. 4 and 5 at Garry Point Park, with donations benefiting local charities.
