Grants of up to $2,000 available for public events promoting community engagement

Richmond-based non-profit organizations, faith groups, Parent Advisory Committees, Community Associations, and Student Councils planning free public events are invited to apply for the Richmond Community Celebration Grant by February 9, 2025. Eligible events include cultural celebrations, community concerts, and movies in the park. This grant program offers up to $2,000 to support projects that enhance collaboration among Richmond residents, bolster community pride, and foster a sense of belonging. Local artists and community members are encouraged to partner with not-for-profits to utilize the arts in community-building and promoting social connections. Eligible events must occur in Richmond between June 1 and December 31, 2025, align with program goals, be inclusive and accessible, engage diverse community members, and remain free to the public. Applicants are required to demonstrate their capacity to host the event and provide a realistic budget.
