Approval of exterior design, ensuring alignment with community needs and sustainable practices
The General Purposes Committee reviewed and endorsed the character design for the West Richmond Pavilion. The design, developed through collaboration with the Building Committee and the Advisory Design Panel (ADP), incorporates sustainable materials and prioritizes accessibility and integration with the surrounding park. Key features include clear sightlines to playing fields, inviting access points, covered outdoor spaces, and a controlled-access second-floor viewing area. The design aligns with City policies, including Passive House standards and accessibility guidelines. Following approval, the project will move to the detailed design phase, with construction anticipated to begin in Q1 2026 and occupancy in Q4 2027.
