Richmond will observe the fifth annual World Leisure Day on Wednesday, April 16, with a range of free and low-cost events suited for all ages. This year’s theme, ‘Leisure for a Better Society,’ invites individuals to engage with leisure as a creative force for improving communities. Globally, cities will embrace how leisure can unlock potential. Attendees in Richmond can visit the Nature Park to learn about bat ecology and cultural perspectives, participate in writing Chinese couplets at Brighouse Library, enjoy a guided tour of South Arm Park through Walk Richmond, and join the Recreation and Leisure Tour at the Richmond Olympic Oval. World Leisure Day, a global initiative by the World Leisure Organization, underscores the value of leisure through diverse forms such as play, arts, sports, and cultural activities.
