Richmond prepares for Culture Days, offering free arts programs.
Culture Days, a national celebration of arts and culture, will return this fall from September 19 through October 12. Richmond artists and cultural organizations are invited to register interactive events that showcase their talents and promote art in the community.
The event provides opportunities for free or pay-what-you-may experiences, including workshops, creative activities, and behind-the-scenes tours. Activities like open studio events, information sessions, and demonstrations aim to increase arts awareness and participation while demonstrating the value of public arts activation.
For artists, Culture Days offers a platform to connect with Richmond residents and visitors. It opens avenues to share creative practices and introduces the vibrant cultural community of Richmond. Organizations can use Culture Days to engage the community, reach new audiences, and enhance member recruitment.
Richmond is renowned as one of Canada’s leading supporters of Culture Days through its programs highlighting various artists and cultural producers. These individuals open their creative spaces to the public or present free, participatory activities.
Registered Culture Days organizers will have access to resources through the Culture Days website, which includes planning tools, activity inspirations, and volunteer management manuals. They will also benefit from promotional support via a marketing campaign from the City of Richmond and BC Culture Days.
