Richmond United Football Club (RUFC) is expanding its girls-only training as the 2026 World Cup heats up, unveiling a new season of the Just 4 Girls Academy this fall.

The Friday-only academy, running from September to February, caters to girls ages U8–U18 and focuses on individual skill-building such as ball mastery, passing, finishing, and tactical awareness. As a Canada Soccer Quality Soccer Provider, RUFC aligns all programming with national Long-Term Player Development standards.

“We want every girl in Richmond to see no barriers in pursuing their path as a soccer player,” said Chris Parry, RUFC staffer. “With the World Cup coming to Vancouver, it’s the perfect moment to inspire and invest in the next generation.”

Parry added, “The Academy ensures a safe, focused environment where girls can really improve. It’s not about forming teams—it’s about building confident, skilled players at their own pace, at all levels of skill.”

RUFC’s strategic pla confirms the club’s broader strategy of growing its girls’ programs using tailored, gender-specific sessions developed through a partnership with Coerver Coaching.

Setting up dedicated girls’ academy tracks—distinct from co-ed or boys-focused opportunities—expands on the club’s traditional programming, which offers recreational and advanced coaching and competitive games to boys and girls aged U5 to U18.

Registration for the upcoming fall/winter season is open now.
