The annual event highlights food, farming, and the community at Garden City Lands.

The Richmond Farm Fest is making its return on Sunday, September 7, offering visitors a chance to celebrate food, farming, and community from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The free event takes place at the 136.5-acre Garden City Lands in the heart of Richmond.

Catered to foodies, gardeners, and families seeking a day out, Richmond Farm Fest promises an engaging experience for all. Highlights of the event include various attractions and activities that spotlight Richmond’s agricultural heritage and its evolving future.

Among the features are a Farmers and Artisans Market, where local farmers display fresh produce and artisans offer homemade goods. The Culinary Demo Stage, presented by Pursuit Kitchen, will host live cooking demonstrations at noon, 1:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m., showcasing local ingredients.

Food trucks and local vendors provide a mouthwatering array of food and beverages. Children can engage in hands-on activities and harvest games at the ‘Little Farmers’ area, while agricultural displays offer insights into food growth and sustainable gardening practices.

Visitors can also explore Richmond’s agricultural history and sustainability efforts through exhibits, enjoy performances at the Community Stage, and partake in a plant labyrinth walk. Educational farm wagon tours provide insight into native plants and the park’s history.

Additionally, the Brew Barn offers craft creations from Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s award-winning Brewing & Brewery Operations program.

Attendees are encouraged to walk, cycle, or use public transit to reach the event. A free bike and e-scooter valet service is available, with parking offered at KPU and Richmond City Hall. Continuous shuttle bus services will run during the festival.
