Richmond invites residents to share memories before new facility opens.

For more than 60 years, the Steveston Community Centre and Library has been a central hub for residents, fostering friendships, celebrating milestones, and hosting people of all ages for learning, recreation, and growth.

As the center prepares to shut its doors for the last time to make way for a new facility, officials are prompting locals to reminisce about their cherished times spent at the beloved venue.

Residents are encouraged to recount impactful fitness classes, unforgettable community events, imaginative Storytimes that captivated children, or simply the welcoming faces that created a homey atmosphere. Every memory is welcome.

Submissions can be shared online at LetsTalkRichmond.ca/StevestonStories, where stories will be displayed on an interactive memory wall. The community is invited to visit frequently, sharing and ‘liking’ contributions from others, collectively celebrating Steveston’s community life.

The closing date for story and photo submissions is set for 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
