Candidates sought for Richmond Tourism Association Board candidacy

Richmond City Council is searching for a qualified individual to nominate for the Richmond Tourism Association Board of Directors. This opportunity is aimed at guiding the strategic growth of Richmond as a top travel destination.

Tourism Richmond operates as a non-profit destination marketing organization and serves as the city’s exclusive provider of tourism marketing services. The Board of Directors offers oversight, policy guidance, and strategic leadership to enhance Richmond’s tourism sector.

Ideal candidates should possess executive experience in industries such as food and beverage, retail, transportation and travel, attractions or events, along with skills in accounting, finance, or general business. Essential attributes include strategic planning, communication, decision-making, and a dedication to broad community tourism development.

Board members are expected to attend around 10 meetings annually, alongside additional committee meetings and tourism events. This voluntary role does not offer financial compensation but provides substantial opportunities to make significant contributions to Richmond’s tourism and to engage with industry peers.
