The Child Care Development Advisory Committee (CCDAC) reviewed applications for 2025 Child Care Grants, recommending $34,267.96 in capital grants to 10 organizations and $7,500.00 in program development grants to one organization. Funding requests totaling $77,979.94 were received. Several applications received less than the requested amount due to ineligible items, insufficient applicant contributions, higher-priced items than necessary and requests for non-essential replacements. The report notes that recent provincial housing legislation impacts the ability to secure voluntary amenity contributions, necessitating increased partnerships and shared financial responsibility. A full review of the Child Care Grant Program is planned for 2025 to address these changes.
