Approval of Temporary Use Permit Extension and Zoning Amendments for Housing and School Projects

The Planning Committee reviewed and approved a three-year extension for the Foursquare Gospel Church of Canada’s Temporary Commercial Use Permit (TCUP) for religious assembly at Unit 140, 11300 No. 5 Road. The extension allows the church additional time to find a permanently zoned location. The application will proceed to a public hearing on April 22, 2025. Several zoning bylaw amendments were also adopted. Bylaw 10586 rezoned an area to Town Housing (ZT104) in the North McLennan (City Centre) area. Bylaw 10587 amended the Official Community Plan to designate an area as ‘School’. Bylaw 10588 added a new Town Housing (ZT105) zone and rezoned other areas as ‘School’ and ‘Institutional’. Bylaw 10636 added a new Compact Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing (ZS32) zone and amended the Table of Equivalencies. Finally, Bylaw 10634 amended a housing agreement for affordable housing at 7557 Cst. Jimmy Ng Road.
